- Spring (March to May): Wildflowers on the clifftops, 18 to 22°C highs, 4 to 7 rainy days per month, hotel rates still moderate. May is one of the two ideal months: warm enough for the beach, not yet crowded.
- Summer (June to August): 25 to 28°C highs, zero to 2mm monthly rain, sea at 18 to 21°C. Peak crowds, especially the first two weeks of August (Portuguese holidays). Book hotels 6 to 8 weeks ahead.
