The Reiterlesmarkt, Rothenburg’s Christmas market, runs from the Friday before the first Advent Sunday until 23 December, filling the Market Square and Green Market with roughly 40 stalls of glühwein, bratwurst and handmade ornaments. This is the town’s peak tourist period, and hotels inside the walls book out months ahead.
