Events and Festivals in Tijuana: Arts and Culture

Entijuanarte (early October)

Entijuanarte is the city’s biggest arts and culture festival, held in the first week of October at the CECUT complex on Paseo de los Héroes. It has run every year since 2005 and features gallery exhibitions, live music, theater, film screenings and a design market, much of it free. Expect the CECUT plaza to be packed on the opening weekend. Confirm exact dates on the CECUT website each year.

Tijuana Innovadora (October, biennial)

Tijuana Innovadora is a biennial technology and innovation conference held in October, drawing entrepreneurs, startups and international speakers to venues around Zona Río. It began in 2010 and runs in even years. Some sessions are free and open to the public; paid passes cover the full program. It is a good reason to visit if you work in tech or manufacturing.

Events and Festivals in Tijuana: Food and Beer

Tijuana Beer Fest (October)

The Tijuana Beer Fest takes over Avenida Revolución in October, celebrating the city’s craft breweries with taps from Insurgente, Border Psycho, Mamut and dozens more. Entry has historically cost around US$9 and included three beer tastings, with additional tastings sold inside. It runs over a weekend, usually in the first half of October. Bring ID, as it is a 21-and-over area for drinking.

Baja California Culinary Fest

This regional food festival rotates through Baja California cities and frequently stages Tijuana events, showcasing chefs from restaurants like Misión 19 and the Valle de Guadalupe wine country. Dates vary by year, often in autumn. Tasting menus and chef collaborations are ticketed and sell out, so book ahead. For where to eat the rest of the year, see the things to do in Tijuana guide. Events and Festivals in Tijuana: Traditions and Sports

Día de los Muertos (November 1-2)

On November 1 and 2, Tijuana observes Día de los Muertos with ofrendas, candlelit altars and face-painted calaveras. The biggest public displays appear in Zona Centro and around CECUT, and many families visit cemeteries on the night of November 1. It is free to attend the public altars, and the atmosphere is festive rather than somber. Book hotels early if you plan to visit that weekend. Club Tijuana’s Xolos play Liga MX home matches at Estadio Caliente from roughly July through May, with the liguilla playoffs in the spring. Home games land most weekends, and tickets run MXN 200-500.
