The trade-off: street noise is a serious issue in the Centro Storico, and many budget B&Bs occupy upper floors of buildings without elevators. Luxury Hotels on the Lungomare (180 to 500 EUR)

The hotel has hosted Oscar Wilde and Virginia Woolf. Romeo Hotel (Via Cristoforo Colombo 45, near the port) is Naples’ design-forward luxury option with a rooftop pool and a Michelin-starred restaurant (Il Comandante).
Rooms from 250 EUR. Grand Hotel Vesuvio (Via Partenope 45, Santa Lucia) is the classic seafront luxury choice directly on the Lungomare. Rooms from 280 EUR, with Vesuvius and Capri views from upper floors. The rooftop restaurant Caruso serves dinner from 19:00 with 80 EUR tasting menus.
Mid-Range Hotels in the Centro Storico and Chiaia (80 to 180 EUR)
Hotel Piazza Bellini (Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli 101) is the best mid-range choice in the Centro Storico, occupying a 16th-century palazzo with a courtyard. Rooms from 100 EUR. It is on the quieter western edge of the historic center, a 5-minute walk from the MANN museum. Decumani Hotel de Charme (Via San Giovanni Maggiore Pignatelli 15) is in a Baroque palazzo on a side street off Spaccanapoli.
Rooms from 90 EUR with frescoed ceilings in the breakfast room. Hotel San Francesco al Monte (Corso Vittorio Emanuele 328) is a converted 16th-century monastery clinging to the hillside above the Spanish Quarter. Rooms from 110 EUR with a rooftop pool (open June to September). The hotel retains monks’ cells as rooms , they are atmospheric but small. Palazzo Alabardieri (Via Alabardieri 38, Chiaia) is a quiet 4-star on a pedestrianized shopping street. Rooms from 130 EUR.
Budget B&Bs and Guesthouses (40 to 80 EUR)
La Ciliegina Lifestyle Hotel (Via P.E. Imbriani 30, near Piazza del Plebiscito) is a boutique B&B with a rooftop terrace and Jacuzzi. Rooms from 90 EUR , at the upper end of budget but excellent value for the location. B&B Arte Musei (Via Salvator Rosa 321, near the MANN) has clean, modern rooms from 55 EUR. Giovanni’s Home (Via Sedile di Porto 13, near the University) is a popular hostel/hotel hybrid with dorm beds from 20 EUR and private rooms from 55 EUR.
