Nashik is at its best between mid-October and mid-March, when daytime highs sit at 27 to 33ยฐC and nights cool to 14 to 19ยฐC. The two seasons to avoid are the April-May heat, when temperatures top 40ยฐC, and the July monsoon, when 479mm of rain can disrupt travel. Below is the month-by-month breakdown, plus the 2027 Kumbh Mela dates that will reshape the calendar. For the full data, see our Nashik weather by month guide, and start with the Nashik overview for orientation.

Best Time to Visit Nashik: October to March (Peak Season)

October to March is the peak season. November through February is the sweet spot: highs of 29 to 33ยฐC, lows of 14 to 16ยฐC, and almost no rain after October. This is when winery terraces at Sula Vineyards are full and temple circuits are comfortable. Hotel rates are highest in December and January, so book 4 to 6 weeks ahead. February is the driest month (2mm) and overlaps with the grape harvest, making it ideal for wine tourism.

Best Time to Visit Nashik: April and May (Cheapest, Hottest)

April and May are the cheapest months to visit because daytime highs hit 38ยฐC and often climb past 42ยฐC. Room rates drop 30 to 40 percent and temples are uncrowded, but sightseeing is only comfortable before 11am and after 4pm. If you come in these months, stay somewhere with a pool and plan indoor stops like the Coin Museum. It is also the season before the Kumbh Mela infrastructure work begins in earnest.

Best Time to Visit Nashik: June to September (Monsoon)

June to September is the southwest monsoon. July alone brings 479mm of rain and humidity near 89%, and trekking routes to Harihar Fort and Anjaneri become muddy and slick. The upside is green countryside, full waterfalls like Dudhsagar Falls, and lower prices. Visit in September if you want the tail of the monsoon: rain drops to 257mm and the landscape is at its greenest. Check which Nashik neighborhoods stay driest before you book.

Best Time to Visit Nashik: Kumbh Mela 2027 Dates

The Simhastha Kumbh Mela returns to Nashik and Trimbakeshwar in 2027, running from a flag-hoisting around 31 October 2026 through the main bathing days of 2 August, 31 August and 11-12 September 2027, with the final flag-lowering on 24 July 2028. Tens of millions of pilgrims attend, so transport, hotels and roads will be packed around the Amrit Snan dates. If you are not attending the Kumbh, avoid August and September 2027 entirely.
