The best time to visit Kaş depends on what you want: reliable beach weather, the lowest hotel prices, empty trails, or the diving season. This guide breaks the year into clear windows with numbers, so you can pick the month that matches your priorities rather than guessing. It is one of seven articles in the Kaş travel guide.
Best Time to Visit Kaş for Weather
May, June, September and October have the best combination of warmth and comfort. Daily highs run 24C to 30C (75F to 86F), rain totals stay under 25mm in May and September, and the sea is warm enough for swimming from late May onward. July and August are the hottest and driest months, averaging 32C to 33C (90F to 91F) with just 3mm of rain, but the midday heat is intense. For the full month-by-month breakdown, see the Kaş weather by month page.
Best Time to Visit Kaş for Lower Prices
Hotel rates bottom out from November through March, when many properties close and those that stay open cut prices by 40 to 60 percent. A mid-range room that costs 90 to 120 EUR per night in August can drop to 40 to 60 EUR in January. April and October are the cheapest months that still have reliably warm, dry weather. Booking in advance matters most for July and August, when the best places to stay in Kaş fill up weeks ahead.
Best Time to Visit Kaş for Fewer Crowds
Kaş is a small town of about 8,000 people, and it feels full from late June through August, when Turkish domestic holidaymakers arrive alongside international visitors. For the quietest experience with good weather, aim for the first three weeks of May or the whole of October. During those months Kaputaş Beach and the boat harbour are relaxed, and you can book restaurants the same day. See the Kaş neighborhoods guide to pick a quieter base such as the Çukurbağ Peninsula.
Best Time to Visit Kaş for Diving and Water Sports
Diving in Kaş runs year-round but peaks from June to September, when sea temperatures reach 27C to 28C (81F to 82F) and visibility hits 20 to 30 metres. The water is calmest in May, June and September. If you are here for the Kekova boat trips and swimming, May to October all work. The things to do in Kaş list has full details on dive sites and boat trip prices.
Best Time to Visit Kaş for Events
The International Lycian Culture and Art Festival brings an opening parade, concerts and exhibitions for three days, usually in late June, with some years shifting it to September. Republic Day on 29 October draws crowds to the harbour with parades and fireworks. Ramadan and the following Eid dates move by about 10 days each year. Check the Kaş events and festivals calendar before you book.
Months to Avoid in Kaş
Avoid January and February if you want open restaurants and boat trips, since much of the town closes for winter. July and August are best avoided if you dislike heat and crowds, with midday highs of 33C (91F) and packed beaches. December is the wettest month at 190mm, so it is the worst choice for outdoor plans. Everything else about the town is covered in the Kaş travel tips guide.
