Where to Stay in Tirupati: On Tirumala Hill
Staying on the hill is the only way to attend the 3:00 morning rituals without a long pre-dawn drive up 20 km of ghat road. TTD-run guesthouses such as Srinivasam and Varahaswamy are the cheapest beds in the region (Rs 50 to Rs 750 a night) but you must book them direct through the TTD portal, often weeks ahead in festival season.
