Tirupati is a year-round pilgrimage town, but the experience differs sharply by season. The single most important tradeoff is temperature against crowds: the weather is at its best from November to February, which is exactly when Tirumala sees its heaviest influx of devotees. Best Time to Visit Tirupati: November to February (Peak Season)
November through February offers the most comfortable climate, with daytime highs of 28 to 32°C (82 to 90°F) and nights of 17 to 21°C (63 to 70°F). January is the coolest month with only about 10 mm of rain. The downside is crowds: December and January draw some of the year’s longest darshan queues, and hotel rates in Tirupati run 20 to 40 percent higher than the June-to-September low. September and October sit in the post-monsoon pause before winter crowds build. October averages 195 mm of rain across about 12 wet days, so bring an umbrella, but temperatures moderate to 31 to 33°C (88 to 91°F) highs. The two Brahmotsavam festivals, normally mid-September and mid-October, are spectacular processions but also the busiest single weeks of the year, so avoid those exact dates unless coming for the festival itself. Avoid April and May: average highs reach 38 to 39°C (100 to 102°F) with high humidity and little rain, making the open-air temple queues genuinely uncomfortable. May also overlaps the tail end of the summer school-break pilgrimage rush, so you get heat and crowds together. July and August are cooler but wetter (110 to 123 mm) and can interrupt the outdoor walks and viewpoints around Tirumala.

The lowest hotel prices and shortest queues fall in June and in the November weekdays outside festival dates. June sees about 70 mm of rain with highs around 37°C (99°F), so it suits budget travelers who can handle some heat. Booking on weekdays, regardless of season, is the single easiest way to cut both cost and wait time, since weekend visitors from Chennai and Bengaluru dominate the town every Friday to Sunday.
