Fuerteventura’s accommodation spans from 5-star adults-only beachfront resorts to self-catering apartments and a handful of budget hotels in the capital. Most visitors stay in one of four main areas: Corralejo in the north (best for surf, nightlife, and variety), Caleta de Fuste in the centre (best for families, golfers, and airport convenience), Costa Calma on the southeast coast (best for wind sports and dedicated beach holidays), or Morro Jable at the southern tip (best for a proper town with a great beach). For a detailed comparison of each area’s character, see our neighborhood guide guide. In this article, recommended hotels for each area follow the area description. For more, see our travel tips and FAQ.

Where to Stay in Fuerteventura: Corralejo

Corralejo has the widest range of accommodation on the island, from luxury beachfront resorts to budget surf hostels. Staying here puts you walking distance from dozens of restaurants, the ferry to Lobos Island and Lanzarote, and the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. The trade-off is that Corralejo can feel busy, and parking near the centre is tight. Hotels along the Avenida Marítima waterfront strip command the highest prices and the best views across to Lobos and Lanzarote. For more details, check our things to do in Fuerteventura.

Where to Stay in Fuerteventura: Caleta de Fuste

Caleta de Fuste (also called El Castillo) is the most convenient base on the island, just 10 minutes from the airport. It centres on a sheltered horseshoe-shaped bay with a man-made beach, two 18-hole golf courses, and a marina with boat trips and water sports. The atmosphere is more relaxed than Corralejo, with a higher proportion of British and Irish visitors. This is the best area for families with young children thanks to the calm, breakwater-protected bay.

Where to Stay in Fuerteventura: Costa Calma and Morro Jable

The southern resorts of Costa Calma and Morro Jable on the Jandía peninsula offer the island’s best beaches: the 9km Sotavento beach system and the 4km Playa del Matorral respectively. Costa Calma is the wind sports capital with the Sotavento lagoon, while Morro Jable is a more traditional town with a fishing port, pedestrian promenade, and ferry connections to Gran Canaria. Both areas are a 60 to 75-minute drive from the airport, which means fewer day-trippers and a more relaxed atmosphere than the northern resorts.
