The Taurus Mountains behind town create a sheltered microclimate that keeps humidity lower than Antalya (30-40 percent vs 60-70 percent in summer), and the sea breeze channels through the gulf to cool afternoons by a few degrees. The swimming season runs from late May to late October, with sea temperatures peaking at 28 deg C (82 deg F) in August. The paragliding season from Babadag Mountain runs April through November, with the most reliable thermals in May-June and September-October.

- Spring (March to May): The best season for hikers and budget travellers. March is still wet (95mm, 9 rainy days) but April transforms the coastal hills with wildflowers and 22 deg C (72 deg F) highs. By May, temperatures hit 27 deg C (81 deg F), rain drops to 25mm, and the sea warms to 21 deg C (70 deg F), with all boat tours running and paragliding in full swing. Hotels are 20-30 percent cheaper than July-August peaks.
- Summer (June to September): Peak season. June and September are the sweet spots: 31 deg C (88 deg F), warm sea (24-27 deg C), all services open, but without the crushing crowds of July-August. July and August deliver the most reliable sunshine but push daytime highs to 34 deg C (93 deg F), pack Oludeniz Beach to capacity by 10:00, and inflate hotel prices by 40-60 percent. Rainfall in July averages 3mm for the entire month.
- Autumn (October to November): October rivals June as the best month to visit: 26 deg C (79 deg F) highs, sea still at 24 deg C (75 deg F), crowds gone, and the Oludeniz Air Games Festival fills the sky with paragliders. November brings a shift to 21 deg C (70 deg F) and 115mm of rain, with seasonal businesses closing by month’s end.
- Winter (December to February): The quietest and cheapest season, with hotel rates at 50 percent of summer peaks. Daytime highs of 16-17 deg C (61-63 deg F) and overnight lows of 7-8 deg C (45-46 deg F). December and January are wet (187mm and 195mm respectively), with storms rolling in off the Mediterranean. About half of seafront restaurants close for winter, but the Tuesday market and town-centre eateries continue year-round.
