Paraguay

Paraguay has a subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters, divided by the Paraguay River. Asuncion averages 18°C in July (winter) and 28°C in January (summer), with summer temperatures frequently reaching 38°C. The Chaco region in the west is hotter and drier, with summer temperatures above 40°C and a dry season from May to September. Eastern Paraguay (Ciudad del Este, Encarnacion) is wetter and greener, with rain spread through the year. The best time to visit is April to September when temperatures are cooler (15-25°C) and humidity is lower. Summer (November to March) brings heavy rain and oppressive heat, making sightseeing uncomfortable.
