Hermosillo’s hotels cluster in two main zones: the historic centre and the upscale Pitic corridor along Boulevard Kino. Most visitors are better off in one of these, with a third option, near the airport, useful only for early flights. Below is our where to stay in Hermosillo breakdown, with three recommended hotels per area. See our neighborhoods guide for a wider view of each district.

Where to Stay in Hermosillo: Downtown and Vado del Río

Staying downtown puts the cathedral, Plaza Zaragoza, and most things to do within walking distance, and it’s the liveliest area in the evening. Vado del Río, just south, is calmer and closer to the US Consulate and government offices. Both are well served by restaurants and rideshare.

Where to Stay in Hermosillo: Colonia Pitic and the Financial District

Pitic is the city’s upscale quarter, running along Boulevard Kino in the north. It holds the best hotels, the largest concentration of restaurants, and the shortest drive to the city’s nightlife. It’s also close to the plazas that host the events and festivals each May. Rates are higher, but you get the most comfortable stay in town.

Suggested Hotels in Colonia Pitic

Fiesta Americana Hermosillo

The city’s leading full-service hotel, with 220 rooms, two pools, a fitness centre, and the regional Moxaico restaurant, on Boulevard Kino in Lomas Pitic. Best for couples and business travelers who want the highest standard in Hermosillo. Check rates and availability
