This is the dry season and the most comfortable stretch of the year. November averages 27.4 °C (81.4 °F) by day with just 28 mm (1.1 in) of rain, and the humidity drops to around 77 percent. December, January and February are the coolest months, with highs of 25 to 26 °C (78 °F) and overnight lows near 20 °C (68 °F), which makes evenings pleasant for dinner outdoors. February and March bring clear skies and 9 to 10 hours of daily sunshine, the best conditions for surfing lessons and beach days. This window is also when the town is busiest, so book your where to stay several weeks ahead if you’re traveling between December and March.

Sayulita Weather by Month: May to October

Rain builds through the summer. June still averages a manageable 90 mm (3.5 in) across 8 rainy days, but July jumps to 126 mm (5.0 in) over 13 days and August to 174 mm (6.9 in) over 15 days. September is the peak of the wet season with 204 mm (8.0 in) across 16 rainy days and humidity at 82 percent, the highest of the year. Rain usually arrives as short, heavy afternoon or evening downpours rather than all-day drizzle, so mornings often stay clear.

Temperatures barely cool during the rainy months. July and August are the warmest, both averaging 28.9 °C (84 °F) by day, with overnight lows around 24.9 °C (76.8 °F). The combination of 80 percent humidity and 30 °C heat makes midday feel heavier than the numbers suggest. If you travel in this window, plan outdoor activities before 1 pm.
