Todos Santos sits on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, about 75 km north of Cabo San Lucas, and has a subtropical desert climate (Koppen BWh). The town gets just 195 mm of rain a year, almost all of it between July and October, and sees more than 300 sunny days. This Todos Santos weather by month guide gives you the actual numbers so you know what to pack. Todos Santos is the place to start for the town overview.
Todos Santos Weather by Month: December to April (Dry Season)
From December through April the sky stays clear and the air is dry. December averages a high of 27°C (80°F) and a low of 15°C (59°F), cooling to January lows around 13°C (55°F). Rain is rare: January gets 15 mm over two days, February 5 mm, and March, April and May often record 0 mm. Nights are cool enough for a light jacket, and daytime highs stay in the 25°C to 27°C (77°F to 80°F) range. This is the best stretch for hiking the Sierra de la Laguna and for whale watching, which runs from mid-December to mid-April. The hikes and beaches are in our things to do in Todos Santos guide.
Todos Santos Weather by Month: May to November (Heat and Rainy Season)
Temperatures climb from June onward. July averages a high of 31°C (88°F) and a low of 22°C (71°F), and August and September are the hottest months, peaking at 32°C (90°F) in the day with humid lows of 23°C (74°F). Rain arrives as short, heavy afternoon showers, concentrated in September (60 mm over five days) and August (45 mm over three days). September is the peak of the Pacific hurricane season, so storms can bring several days of rain at once. The heat plus humidity makes midday uncomfortable in August and September; mornings and late afternoons are the usable hours. Festival dates are in the Todos Santos events calendar.

Todos Santos Weather by Month: Sea Temperature and Sunshine
The Pacific here is cooler than the Sea of Cortez side of the peninsula. Sea temperature runs about 20°C to 21°C (68°F to 70°F) from January to April, warming to 26°C to 28°C (79°F to 82°F) from August through October. Winter and spring bring a cold current and strong swells, which is why surfers choose Los Cerritos from November to March. Sunshine hours peak from May through August at 10 to 11 per day. Todos Santos Weather by Month: What to Pack
Pack a light jacket or sweater for December through March evenings, when lows reach 12°C to 15°C (54°F to 59°F). Bring a rain jacket only if you travel in August or September, the two months with real rain. A 2 mm or 3/2 mm wetsuit works for winter surfing; a rash guard is enough in summer. Sunscreen is a daily requirement year round, and a hat is essential from June to October when the UV index runs high. If you are planning an overnight stay, compare areas in where to stay in Todos Santos. Airport transfers and money are in the Todos Santos travel tips guide.
