Denmark has a temperate maritime climate shaped by its position between the North and Baltic Seas. Copenhagen averages 1°C in January and 17°C in July, with rain spread across the year (about 170 rainy days). Summers rarely exceed 25°C, making the Danish coast popular for cycling and beach holidays from June to August. Winter is grey and damp rather than severely cold, with snow cover sporadic and short-lived in most years. The best months for city visits are May through September, with June offering the longest daylight (sunset after 10 PM). Wind is a year-round feature across Denmark’s flat landscape, making it one of Europe’s top wind energy producers.
