October averages a high of 27C (81F), a low of 18C (64F), and just 55 mm of rain across roughly seven wet days. November cools to 22C (72F) with only 45 mm of rain. These are the two months with the best balance of dry skies, warm afternoons, and low humidity, and they are ideal for climbing Yu Mountain, cycling the Minjiang riverfront, or spending a full day in Three Lanes and Seven Alleys without overheating. Sunshine runs 125-150 hours per month, the highest of the year after summer.
Best Time to Visit Fuzhou: March to April (Mild Spring)
Late March through April is the second-best window. Temperatures climb from 19C (66F) to 24C (75F) and rainfall is moderate at 130-150 mm. The city’s banyan trees leaf out and the azaleas bloom on Drum Mountain. Two drawbacks: spring brings intermittent drizzle, and the Qingming Festival holiday in early April draws large domestic crowds to the historic streets. If you want spring weather without the holiday rush, target the last week of March or mid-April.

Avoid July and August. Highs reach 34C (93F) with humidity above 80 percent, making sightseeing exhausting, and this is the middle of typhoon season with 145-180 mm of monthly rain. June is the wettest month at 215 mm, so while temperatures are a shade cooler, you will lose afternoons to downpours. January and February are dry and cheap but dull, with highs of only 15-16C (59-61F) and gray skies. Late September is still typhoon-alert season plus the week-long National Day holiday from October 1 crowds the city.

Hotel rates bottom out in January and February, after the Lunar New Year rush, and again in early December before the year-end school holidays. If you want Fuzhou nearly to yourself, come the second week of December, when prices are 30-40 percent below October peak and the historic lanes are quiet.
