Ensenada Weather by Month: Winter (December to February)

December through February are the coolest and wettest months. January averages a high of 19.7°C (67°F) and a low of 7.5°C (46°F), with 50 mm of rain over about 6 days. Nights drop to 7 to 8°C (46°F), so bring a jacket for evenings. This is gray whale season in Bahía de Todos Santos, one of the top things to do in Ensenada between January and March.

Ensenada Weather by Month: Spring (March to May)

Spring warms steadily and dries out. March still gets 50 mm of rain over 6 days, but by May rainfall drops to just 5 mm over 2 days. May averages a high of 21.8°C (71°F) and a low of 12.6°C (55°F). May and June often bring a coastal marine layer, fog that lingers in the morning then burns off by noon across most Ensenada neighborhoods.

Ensenada Weather by Month: Summer (June to August)

Summer is dry and mild by Mexican standards. August, the warmest month, averages a high of 26.3°C (79°F) and a low of 17.7°C (64°F), with effectively zero rainfall in June, July and August. This is the best stretch for beach days and outdoor dining, and it is far cooler than inland Mexicali, which routinely tops 40°C (104°F) in July. November nights cool to about 10°C (50°F), and the Baja 1000 off-road race, one of the biggest Ensenada events, fills the city in mid-November.

Ensenada Weather by Month: Rainfall, Sea Temperature and Sunshine

Ensenada gets about 260 mm (10.2 inches) of rain a year across 37 rainy days, one of the driest coastal climates in Mexico. The sunniest, driest stretch runs June through September, which is also peak season for the Ensenada cruise port.
