The Santo Tomas agricultural fair fills Plaza Nueva, the Arenal, and surrounding streets on December 21 with over 200 stalls selling Basque produce, crafts, and prepared foods. The fair dates back to the 19th century as a day when rural farmers came to the city to pay rents and sell goods.
