French Polynesia has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round and two seasons. Tahiti and Bora Bora average 24-30°C, with the dry season (May to October) bringing lower humidity and cooling trade winds. The wet season (November to April) brings higher humidity, brief afternoon downpours, and the risk of tropical cyclones. The best time to visit is June to September, with August being the peak month for tourism. Water temperatures stay between 26°C and 29°C year-round, making the lagoons swimmable in any season. The Marquesas Islands have a slightly different climate with less seasonal variation and more rain year-round.
