Benidorm is the Costa Blanca’s most famous resort city, known for its unique skyline of high-rise hotels towering above two broad sandy beaches. The city averages 300-plus sunny days a year with a Mediterranean climate that brings mild winters and hot, dry summers. Originally a small fishing village, Benidorm transformed from the 1960s into one of Europe’s most visited holiday destinations, drawing nearly 900,000 British visitors annually alongside Spanish and northern European tourists. Despite its reputation for package holidays and nightlife, the city also offers a well-preserved Old Town with tapas bars, offshore island excursions, hiking trails in the Sierra Helada natural park, and four major theme parks including Terra Mitica and Aqualandia.
