The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers averaging 29 degrees C (84 degrees F) and cool winters around 6 degrees C (43 degrees F). The best months for sightseeing are May, June, and September. July and August are hot and busy with beach tourism; November through February are cold, grey, and quiet, but hotel prices drop by 40 to 50 percent.
