Treviso Events and Festivals

Italy Veneto Treviso

Treviso punches above its weight for events. The city hosts one of Italy’s longest-running free music festivals, a major comic book convention, and seasonal food celebrations built around its famous radicchio. Here’s the complete Treviso events and festivals calendar with dates and what to expect at each. For climate context, see our Treviso travel tips guide.

Treviso Events and Festivals: Summer

Suoni di Marca (July)

Suoni di Marca is Treviso’s flagship summer event: 15 nights of free live music along the 16th-century city walls (Mura). The festival runs for roughly two weeks in July (exact dates announced each spring, typically mid-July). Multiple stages are set up along the walls between Porta San Tomaso and Porta Santi Quaranta, with food and drink stands selling local wine, beer, and street food. Music genres range from jazz and world music to Italian pop and indie rock. Entry is free for all concerts. The atmosphere is relaxed: locals bring picnic blankets and sit on the grassy bastions. About 80,000 visitors attend over two weeks. Check suonidimarca.it for the current lineup.

Treviso Events and Festivals: Autumn

Home Festival (September)

Home Festival is a 4-day indie music and arts festival held in early September at the former Dogana venue near the Sile River. Founded in 2010, it attracts over 20,000 attendees. Past headliners include The Chemical Brothers, M.I.A., and Skrillex. A 4-day pass costs about EUR 80; single-day tickets are EUR 25 to 35. Camping is available on-site. Check homefestival.eu for lineup and dates. This is Treviso’s biggest music event and accommodation books up well in advance.

Treviso Comic Book Festival (September)

TCBF runs for 10 days in late September, transforming the city into a comic book and illustration hub. Exhibitions are set up in palazzos, churches, and public spaces across the historic center. The event draws about 30,000 visitors including major international illustrators and publishers. Most exhibitions are free. Check trevisocomicbookfestival.it for the program. One of Italy’s top three comic conventions alongside Lucca Comics.

Prosecco Harvest (Vendemmia, September to October)

The grape harvest in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Hills runs from mid-September through early October. Wineries open for visits and tastings, and the hills are at their most scenic with workers hand-picking Glera grapes. The Cantine Aperte event in late September lets you visit multiple cantine with a single pass. Train from Treviso Centrale to Conegliano takes 20 minutes (EUR 4.50).

Treviso Events and Festivals: Winter

Radicchio Rosso di Treviso Festivals (November to February)

Treviso’s most famous food product, Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP, gets its own festival season. The Mostra del Radicchio Rosso in Treviso runs from late November through December with tastings and cooking demonstrations. Surrounding towns like Dosson, Zero Branco, and Rio San Martino hold sagre (food festivals) on weekends from November through February, featuring risotto al radicchio and grilled radicchio.

Christmas Markets (Late November to December 24)

Treviso’s Christmas market sets up in Piazza dei Signori and along Via Calmaggiore from the last weekend of November through December 24. Stalls sell handcrafted ornaments, local food products, mulled wine (vin brule, EUR 3), and artisanal gifts. An ice skating rink appears in Piazza Borsa. The city strings lights across the canals and porticoes. Much less crowded than Venice’s Christmas markets.

Treviso Events and Festivals: Spring

Treviso in Fiore (April)

A weekend flower show held in late April, typically around April 25 (Liberation Day). The historic center is decorated with floral installations, and Piazza dei Signori hosts stalls selling plants and flowers. Free entry. Coincides with pleasant spring weather (average 18Β°C / 64Β°F).

Palio dei Quartieri (September)

This medieval-style competition between Treviso’s four historic quarters (San Martino, San Tomaso, San Leonardo, Santa Maria) includes crossbow tournaments, flag-throwing displays, and a costumed parade. Takes place over a weekend in mid-September. Free to watch. Less touristy than Siena’s Palio. Check the Comune di Treviso website for exact dates.
