Calangute has a tropical savanna climate (Koppen Aw) with two sharply defined seasons: a hot, sunny dry season from November to May and a heavy monsoon from June through September. The mercury stays between 30 and 33 C (86 to 91 F) for most of the year, and annual rainfall totals roughly 2,771 mm (109 in), nearly all of it falling in the four monsoon months. This month-by-month guide gives you the actual temperatures, rainfall and sunshine hours so you can plan around the rain rather than be surprised by it. Calangute Weather by Month: Temperatures and Rainfall
Like the rest of Goa, Calangute’s year splits into wet and dry halves rather than four seasons. December and January are the coolest and driest months, while April and May are the hottest before the monsoon breaks. See the best time to visit Calangute guide for how these patterns translate into travel planning. For more detail, see our Calangute neighborhoods guide.

What to Expect Each Season
November to February delivers the weather travelers come for: 10 hours of sun, highs around 31 to 33 C, and almost no rain. Nights cool to about 20 C (68 F), which feels genuinely comfortable after the afternoon heat. March to May climbs into 33 C territory with rising humidity, and May typically sees the first pre-monsoon showers around 96 mm. The southwest monsoon hits in early June and runs to late September; July is the wettest at roughly 880 mm, when the sea turns rough and most beach shacks close up. Calangute Weather by Month: Sea Temperature
The Arabian Sea off Calangute holds a steady 28 to 30 C (82 to 86 F) year-round, so the water is always warm enough to swim. The distinction is swell, not temperature: from June to September the monsoon churns up waves strong enough that lifeguards post red flags on Calangute’s main beach. Swimming is safest from November through April when the surf is calm and flat. Start with the Calangute guide for the full overview.
