San Diego Events in Winter: December to February
December Nights
December Nights fills Balboa Park the first Friday and Saturday of December with free museum entry, food vendors, and a tree-lighting ceremony. Hours run roughly 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and 350,000 people attend over the two nights. Parking is the bottleneck; take the free shuttle from downtown or the trolley.
Farmers Insurance Open
The Farmers Insurance Open PGA Tour event runs the last week of January at Torrey Pines Golf Course, the public course overlooking the Pacific. San Diego Restaurant Week

ArtWalk San Diego

San Diego Latino Film Festival
The San Diego Latino Film Festival runs 10 days in March at the AMC Mission Valley and the Digital Gym Cinema, screening 150-plus films. Individual tickets are about $15, with festival passes available. It’s one of the largest Latino film festivals in the US.
Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo
Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo brings mariachi, folklorico dancing, and food stalls to Old Town San Diego the first weekend of May. It’s free and runs 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. The historic park’s adobe buildings stay open late for the event.

San Diego County Fair

Del Mar Racing Season

MCAS Miramar Air Show
The Miramar Air Show runs the last weekend of September at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, with the Blue Angels and other military flight demonstrations. It’s free with grandstand upgrades available. Arrive early, and expect jet noise across the city all weekend.
San Diego Film Festival
