Average high 31°C (88°F), low 21°C (70°F). Nearly identical to July in temperature but more humid with 18mm of rain. Sea temperature peaks at 26°C (79°F), the warmest of the year. This is peak tourist season: beaches are packed, restaurant reservations are essential, and hotel rates hit their annual maximum. The first two weeks of August see many Europeans on holiday, making Palma especially busy.
September
Average high 28°C (82°F), low 18°C (64°F). Sea temperatures hold at 25°C (77°F), often warmer than June. Rainfall increases slightly to 50mm but still only 5 wet days. This is arguably the best month for a beach holiday: the water is warm, crowds thin after the first week, and hotel prices drop 15-20% from August peaks.
October
Average high 23°C (73°F), low 14°C (57°F). A transitional month with 7 hours of sun but 70mm of rain across 8 wet days. Sea temperature drops to 22°C (72°F). Early October can still deliver beach weather, but by month’s end you’ll want indoor dining options. The Palma Marathon and the Nit de l’Art cultural festival draw crowds in October.
November
Average high 19°C (66°F), low 10°C (50°F). Rainfall jumps to 58mm and the sea cools to 19°C (66°F). Just 5 hours of daily sun. Most beach clubs close, and the city shifts to its winter rhythm. It’s still warmer than northern Europe, appealing to visitors seeking a mild autumn escape. The Dijous Bo fair in Inca (30km away) is a major local event.
December
Average high 16°C (61°F), low 7°C (45°F). December brings 48mm of rain and 5 hours of sun. Sea temperature falls to 17°C (63°F). Palma puts on an elaborate Christmas display, with markets in Plaza Mayor and Plaza España opening from late November through January 5. The Three Kings Parade on January 5 is the biggest celebration of the Christmas season. Hotel rates are at winter lows outside the December 24 to January 2 holiday window.

Palma de Mallorca Weather: Sunshine and Sea Temperatures
Palma receives roughly 2,800 hours of sunshine annually, one of the highest totals in Europe. The sunniest stretch runs from May through August, when you can expect 10 to 11.5 hours of sun per day. Even in December and January, the city still gets around 5 hours of direct sun daily, more than most of northern Europe sees in summer. UV levels reach 8-9 in July and August; sunscreen with SPF 30+ is essential during these months. Sea temperatures become comfortable for swimming from June through October, with the sweet spot being September when the water has been warming all summer and the air temperature is slightly less intense than August.
